After workshopping one of my short stories and receiving positive feedback, I decided I want to begin submitting to Writers of the Future. I wrote something in my current universe for the contest, something of more appropriate length, then my computer charger failed on me, I have had very limited editing time. I fear I'll miss this deadline,I'll simply submit a much shorter piece, but I want to finish editing and workshopping the story in time for the next quarter's deadline. After that, I will be heading back to the novel writing with the experience of writing and editing more fresh in my mind, I feel things will come together better.

Camp Nanowrimo begins April 1st. I'm unsure if I will participate in it given I will be editing the above mentioned short as well as working on home repairs now the weather is finally becoming spring-like. I do encourage everyone to give it a shot, the cabins are fun, as are the chats. I have enjoyed the social aspect of the cabin and camp setting in the past but I do find that now I want something more serious and year round. I did end up joining a cabin more for the friendship and encouragement other writer can give, a group who wants to be more year-round on their writing than NaNo normally tends to be.
I have been on the hunt for a discord or other group of writers who are all helping each other grow, and think I might have found one, time will tell but I am happy with the small size and happy chatter so far. I am currently part of a small writing group hosted by my local library and grateful for the chance to get feedback on some writing but it is very small and not everyone writes fantasy. I want this year to be a year for growth. I have a number of short stories from previous years that I can edit and submit to publications but I want to get more novels written and edited that I can begin to shop around.
